This course will help you develop your practical skills and knowledge of motor vehicle systems. You will work to recognised industry standards and be given a greater understanding of the motor vehicle industry. You will work in our state-of-the-art motor vehicle workshops with modern equipment and machinery and be taught all of the latest techniques that employers look for.

    • Working safely in an automotive environment
    • Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices
    • Routine light vehicle maintenance
    • Removing and replacing light vehicle engine units and components
    • Lubrication and cooling systems
    • Fuel, ignition, air and exhaust systems
    • Electrical fault diagnosis and repair
  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.

    Assessment is by observation of practical activities taking the form of a series of assignments developed in the respective practical workshops and written assignments for each unit
