The accolade recognises high-quality training in London, that is responding to the needs of employers in priority sectors. It supports the Mayor’s commitment to help Londoners into work, in industries that are key to the economic recovery and growth of the nation’s capital.

CEO and Group Principal of London & South East Education Group, Dr Sam Parrett CBE, says:

“We are delighted to have been awarded the Mayoral Academies Quality Mark in three key sectors, which recognises the high quality of our training and skills provision.

“Our priority is ensuring people have access to the opportunities needed to achieve career success – via excellent teaching and learning, along with great links to employers.

“Skills gaps are increasing across London and we have to ensure that we equip people with the skills and knowledge they need in order to take advantage of the many, exciting jobs that employers have on offer.

"Introducing this Quality Mark makes it easier for students and employers to identify exceptional provision and will help us to further strengthen our offer across the region."

The Quality Mark scheme builds on the Mayor’s Construction Academy Quality Mark, which the college achieved in 2019. Earlier this year, LSEC was also chosen to lead the Local London Green and Digital Mayoral Academy (LLGDMA) – part of the Mayor of London’s new £44m Academies Programme.

The aim of all these programmes is to help ensure skills needs in priority industries are met across London and that skills and training are of the highest quality.
