Hairdressing (Women) - Certificate

This course is ideal if you who are interested in a career in the hairdressing industry. It allows you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in this field. Progression from this course can lead you to a Level 3 in Hairdressing or to an Advanced Apprenticeship Course content is highly practical and covers a broad range of basic hairdressing skills.

  • What you will study

    Topics include:

    • Health and safety in the workplace
    • Working in the beauty related industries
    • Client consultation for hair services
    • Shampooing and conditioning for the hair and scalp
    • The Art of Hairdressing
    • Cut women’s hair
    • Colouring and lightening techniques
  • Entry Requirements

    You must:

    • Be over 19
    • Have 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) (English and maths desirable) or a Level 1 qualification.
    • Previous experience in the customer service sector, prior qualifications or a maths and English assessment will also be taken into consideration as entry criteria to the course.

    You will be assessed through a range of practical assessment techniques, observations, assignments and online examinations
