We’re excited to share the success of our recent Green Skills in Action breakfast event, held at London South East Colleges, Bromley Campus.
These gatherings brought together employers, stakeholders, and educators to discuss the importance of green skills and explore innovative solutions to meet the needs of the evolving workforce.
Organised as a collaboration between the Local London Skills Providers Network and the Mayor’s Skills Academies (MSA), this event highlighted the progress made through the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) and Local Skills Improvement Funds (LSIFs). These initiatives are designed to align education and training with the demands of employers, ensuring our regional workforce is equipped with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing economy. The MSA is a partnership of eight colleges, working to provide education in green skills to support Londoners into jobs.
Attendees had the opportunity to tour the exciting new Green Lab facilities and learn about the cutting-edge training and programmes being delivered. The event featured discussions about the technical and green skills that businesses require, creating a platform for collaboration between employers and education providers.
The insights gained will help industry understand the actions being taken to fill the skills gap that exists within the Green industry as well as serve to highlight further industry need for individuals qualified in Green. Our breakfast continues our year-long programme of events, guest talks and enrichment opportunities focused on raising awareness and developing understanding of sustainability and Green Skills.

Our
course, a key part of our green agenda, recently concluded with great success. Running from 2 to 6 December 2024, the course welcomed 11 qualified electricians, many running their own businesses, all of whom passed and received their certification. This marks the first of many green courses we’ll be offering as we continue to support sustainable skills development throughout the year.
