The event, hosted at London South East Colleges Bromley Campus, was held by the Rotary Club (Langley Park branch) in aid of the Bromley Children and Families Forum. Local families and children aged 3-11 years old were invited to follow the woodchip path through the woods and find the twelve teddy bears that had been hidden there. Once found, the children took a photograph of the teddy to prove their discovery and win a prize.

On the hottest day of the year the event was well attended, as families enjoyed the cool cover of the woods while the children foraged for the teddies. Every family that went through the woods with their young children said how lovely it was to be outdoors with the kids and how nice it was to get the children away from their computer games!

Louise Wolsey, Group Chief Transformation Officer, London South East Colleges said: “In March 2021, London South East Colleges faced the huge challenge of rolling out mass lateral flow testing for all college users to support the safe return to campus and face to face learning. The Rotary Club, Langley Park responded to our call for local volunteers to help roll out the testing programme.

“I’m delighted that we were able to lend our support to this much needed community event and that the event was a success after all the hard work and planning by the Rotary Club, Langley Park.”

All fees and donations were to support Bromley Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum who work to bring together charities and voluntary groups in Bromley and enable them to better support children, young people and families across the borough.
